RELIGION OF TAIWAN

RELIGION

The second aspect to Taiwanese success is its religion, which has two main systems - Taoism and Buddhism, but a few people accept Christianity from abroad. Most of the Taiwanese believe in Taoism, so there are thousands of Taoist temples in Taiwan. Taoism emphasizes that people should sacrifice their past ancestors and have to do more works of charity in life, so that they will havegood future generations after they pass away.In fact, Toist thought is that there are many gods in the world, but there is only one high God. On the other hand, although Buddhism persuades people to do good deeds, everything in their life is visionary.Furthermore, people should do more charitable things so that they can become Buddhas, and they will not be born in the world to suffer again. As a matter of fact, Buddhism has developed rapidly and has spread throughout the world in recent years.

ECONOMY OF TAIWAN

TAIPEI CITY

In their economy, the Taiwanese have developed from agriculture to industry, from light industry to heavy industry, from heavy industry to science-and-technology industry, step by step. Before 1950, agriculture and agricultural products were the main economic resources in Taiwan, such as rice and fruits. In fact, people lived as agrarians for hundreds of years. In the 1950s, light industries began developing and brought people many jobs in Taiwan, such as garment goods and decoration goods. After 1960, the industrial development was gradually moving toward heavy industry. People invested a lot of capital to build more firms and produced a lot of industrial goods, such as TVs, machines, and motorcycles. As a result, people had more job opportunities and became richer than before. During the 1970s, the firms in Taiwan began producing the parts essential to technology and science.Consequently, Taiwan became one of the main exporters of scientific and technological parts after 1980, such as computer parts and instrumental arts.Nowadays, the Taiwanese can already make many kinds of computers, automobiles, and airplanes.Because of Taiwanese wisdom and diligence, they have created a miracle: the seventh richest country in the world.
